Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 18, 2026
Siberian Huskies World ("we", "us", "our") operates this website as a community help center for Siberian Husky owners. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and what your rights are. The site is operated from the Czech Republic, serves a global English-speaking audience including readers in the United States, and complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the EU ePrivacy Directive, and the California Consumer Privacy Act / California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA / CPRA).
1. Data we collect
We collect very little personal data ourselves. The website does not require an account. The categories of data potentially processed when you visit the site are:
- Anonymous usage analytics — page views, session duration, country, device type. Collected only after you accept analytics cookies.
- IP address and user agent — automatically processed by our hosting provider for security and abuse prevention. Not stored beyond standard server log retention.
- Advertising identifiers — when you accept advertising cookies, third-party advertising partners (such as Google AdSense) may set cookies and collect device information to serve and measure ads.
- Email address — only if you voluntarily contact us at [email protected]. We use it solely to reply.
2. Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device. We classify cookies in three categories:
- Necessary — required for the site to function (e.g. remembering your cookie preference). Always on, never optional.
- Analytics — anonymous, aggregated traffic statistics. Off by default until you consent.
- Advertising — used by Google AdSense and its partners to personalize and measure advertising. Off by default until you consent.
You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the site footer.
3. Google AdSense
This website may display advertising provided by Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to this and other websites on the Internet.
When you accept advertising cookies, Google may also collect data such as your approximate location, device information, IP address, and previous interactions with ads. You can review Google's privacy practices at policies.google.com/technologies/ads and opt out of personalized advertising via Google Ads Settings.
We use Google's Consent Mode v2. If you do not consent to advertising cookies, Google will only show non-personalized ads, which require limited data for basic ad serving and fraud prevention.
4. Legal basis for processing
We process data on the following legal bases under GDPR Article 6:
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — analytics and advertising cookies.
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) — security, fraud prevention, basic server logs.
- Contract / pre-contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) — replying to your email when you contact us.
5. Data retention
Server logs are kept for up to 30 days. Email correspondence is kept for as long as is reasonably necessary to address your inquiry, typically up to 24 months. Cookie preferences are stored in your browser until you change them or your browser clears them.
6. Your rights (GDPR)
You have the right to: access your personal data, request rectification or erasure, restrict or object to processing, request data portability, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in the Czech Republic, this is ÚOOÚ). To exercise these rights, email [email protected].
7. California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):
- Right to know what personal information we collect, use, share, or sell.
- Right to delete personal information we have collected from you.
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information.
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising your CCPA rights.
We do not sell personal information for monetary value. However, the use of third-party advertising cookies (e.g. Google AdSense) may qualify as "sharing" under the CPRA. You can opt out of advertising cookies at any time by clicking "Cookie preferences" in the site footer, by setting your browser to send a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal which we will honor, or by contacting us at [email protected].
To exercise any CCPA / CPRA right, email us. We will respond within 45 days.
8. International transfers
Some of our service providers (e.g. Google) may process data outside the European Economic Area. Such transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent GDPR-recognized safeguards.
9. Children (COPPA)
The site is not directed at children under 16 (or under 13 in the United States, per the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we may have, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent changes. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site for at least 14 days.
